Gatehouse: launchers for the 1.130 client

Gatehouse starts the retail Dark Age of Camelot 1.130 client and connects it to a community server you choose, instead of the official login. It works with OpenDAoC servers that accept the 1.130 client.

It comes in two forms, both for Windows:

  • Postern, a console launcher. It asks for the server, port, account and password, or takes them as options so you can launch from a .bat file.
  • Waystone, a small windowed launcher that keeps a list of servers and can save passwords in Windows Credential Manager.

Neither changes any game files. They start the game, patch a few bytes in its memory, and let it run. They work only on the unmodified retail 1.130 game.dll, and check it before changing anything.

There are two ways to connect:

  • crypto-off turns off the client's encryption, for a server that accepts unencrypted 1.130 clients.
  • key-swap puts your server's public key in place of the publisher's, so the connection stays encrypted to a key only your server holds.

A server needs 1.130 client support for either. Our change adding it, with optional encryption, is submitted to OpenDAoC. It's the same work that got the current client onto OpenDAoC.

Downloads are on the Gatehouse releases page, and the README covers setup for players and server operators. Gatehouse is MIT-licensed and builds from source with the .NET 10 SDK.
